Strelitzia Nicolai is native to South Africa and belongs to the family Strelitziaceae. It is a relative of the well-known “Bird of Paradise” (Strelitzia Reginae), but Nicolai stands out for its larger size and imposing leaves.
The name “Strelitzia” was given in honour of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of King George III of England. Today it is one of the most popular interior design plants, a symbol of modern natural luxury and exotic aesthetics.
